They are not drawings, but good photographs.Descriptions include habitat, Food, nesting, time active, mate, young and always coloration.The descriptions are short and are no frills.. Just the facts in a short paragraph but very informative.I own other guides, and Smithsonian is laid out the best, and has the best and biggest color pictures. When your looking at the actual animal and need a reference, the big vivid picture comes in handy...Specializes in almost every Snake in the world, turtles frogs and most lizards... I am not a expert on how many different reptiles I'm sure this guide does not cover them all... This is a World guide not Local or North American.
