All of our outlets in our kitchen are GFI protected at the panel and not at the outlet level. I’ve now had these installed for 9.5 years and have only had them trip twice. I don’t know what caused it, but my guess is the outlets did what they were supposed to do, and the GFI at the panel worked as it should. I would highly recommend this product. I’m a demanding consumer and these things have done perfectly for 9 1/2 years. As for your question, GFI‘s outlets should fit perfectly into these if that’s the route you want to take. **Q: Are any of the boxes paintable?** A: Technically, yes they are paintable with paints intended for metal finishes. Probably much easier to buy color you want. **Q: Are there other colors available?** A: The Bryant (Hubbell) under cabinet outlet/switch boxes are only available in White or Stainless Steel. **Q: Are they available in any other colors?** A: I believe so if not metal ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Product……but wiring can be a challenge *by R***R on May 13, 2025* Great Product ! I relocated my 20 A outlets that were in my kitchen countertop full backsplash to under the upper cabinets. One small difficulty: wiring with an in and out 12 AWG (yellow NM wire) is extremely difficult and required a bit of trial and error due to the small size of this box. Notte Well: there is no room for a wire to pass above a 20A outlets. All wires must be tightly packed around the outlet and the use pigtails is a must with an in and out outlet in the middle (NM 12 AWG wire fed into this box via the two rear knockouts). ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great under cabinet *by B***D on September 26, 2024* Remodeled kitchen and wanted no outlets in backsplash. These require some pre-planning, but went in with a little work. Note that you have to drill through cabinet bottom to install these. You cannot just use wood screws. Means you have to align the included template correctly. These will NOT hold a GFCI. They make another model for that. These will hold two sets of 12-2 wire, but that is it. You will have to mess around to get wires tucked away so cover can be screwed on. They do stick down about 3/8 or an inch from bottom of cabinet but are pretty much un-noticeable . ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect Under Cabinet *by J***B on October 23, 2024* Great item for installing receptacles under cabinet, keeps wires neat out of the way and the best feature is that if your adding a back splash, your not dealing with a receptacle offer few feet.
