It is more for decoration than security. **Q: The latch ended up being too short. Any suggestion on same product with a longer latch?** A: I don't know of any locks with longer latches. Mine fit my cabinet and seemed to be identical to the original. These latches are cheap and longer latches will be hard to find. I would look to moving the latch closer to the strike or the strike closer to the latch if it's possible. **Q: What color exactly is this?
