It FEELS substantial in your hand (like an extension of your fingers). The second thing I noticed was the ease of squishing the garlic. There was hardly any effort needed (I did four cloves). It was straightforward and simple in use, though removing the excess skin after use is a bit annoying. That's about the only complaint I have about it, cleaning the excess skin out is annoying. Otherwise, its nice and functional, doing the job without problems. The included 'skin peeler' worked smoothly, though there was one wart. It may have been due to not using extremely fresh garlic but the skin peeler would kind of mangle the garlic. It removed the skin just fine, but it would also pulp the garlic a bit as well. I'll have to try it again with some fresh garlic and see if that was the cause. But, for the most part, I'm quite pleased with the garlic press and the few annoyances are ones I can deal with.
