The shipping made it worse, I have spent at least 8 hours scrubbing these coins and they are unsalvagable. When it arrive, I was excited. I soaked it in distilled water for a few weeks, and then switched to non-virgin olive oil for about 6 months. I used cleaning techniques periodically, however this piece was so worn down that I couldn't even make out any discernable features. The diameter of the coin matches those from the roman era but how do I even know it is Roman?
