It can be used with a sharp and a ballpoint pen in one roll. (ordered from Japanese Design Center) The sharbo x "carbon" multi pen arrived a week before it was initially expected (took about 4 weeks). The pen feels nice and premium in the hand with mostly aluminum construction. The carbon fiber handle of the pen feels uniquely smooth to the touch; hating the touch of cold metal I appreciate it, this really is a great design. However, if you don't like heavier pens then you might want to look at more plastic pens, you're paying for the premium of the aluminum body and with it comes weight to consider (about 25.7 g with components inserted). And don't forget to order your inserts! the pen does NOT come with any (can hold 2 pen components[Search for D1 refill components] and 1 mechanical pencil component[make sure it's the sharbo X component]) . It takes Zebra D1 refills, which are just ever so slightly larger than everyone else's D1 refills.
