Review: la mitica pietra Norton - La famosa pietra per affilare Norton, doppia grana, da usare con olio Perfetta, presa perchè negli anni 70/80 papà la aveva e affilava perfettamente. Purtropo non ho più ritrovato tale pietra, ma questa è esattamente come quella che ricordavo Si ottiene facilmente un filo molto tagliente, soprattutto se si usa uno strop alla fine con qualche pasta di lucidatura o anche solamente del polish ( sidol )
Review: product is great. shipping is awful. - The stone is great. It cuts well as you can feel it bites into the material. It doesn't wear out a lot so the stone geometry wont change much. I bought three of them, two of them arrive normally and i am using them happily. however, for the last one, they sent wrong item twice! i keep getting the black silicon carbide one instead of the aluminum oxide one with one side being orange. this is really annoying since i have to send it back twice for replacement and refund as well. for real desertcart, check your warehouse, did you have the wrong label on tray??

## Questions & Answers

**Q: which side is coarse ?**
A: That’s a good question and something the manufacturer should have indicated on each end of the slab. I suggest anyone considering this product consider another stone. That said although I’m still not sure, I’m using the grey side as coarse and clay as fine. Hope the manufacturer or seller chimes in and makes it more clear

**Q: Did it come with anniversary box?**
A: No. Simple cardboard.

**Q: Did it come with anniversary box?  i believe the anniversity stone is made in the usa**
A: the stones I bought both came in a Norton factory box. Not sure what you mean by Anniversary box. Looks like a normal factory box with their logo's, etc on it.

**Q: Pre soak required?**
A: No need to soak, but coat it with a little oil or at least make sure whatever you’re sharpening is oily and it should last almost forever, otherwise swarf will get embedded that is all but impossible to get out. Although I haven’t bought this stone it’s been my experience with other Norton products. See video.: The flat stone and tapered stones were used only a few times before I learned the importance and effectiveness of oil. The swarf is what is still there after degreasing, scrubbing with cleanser, etc.  The long square stone has been used for many years after learning to apply oil.

The stone is great. It cuts well as you can feel it bites into the material. It doesn't wear out a lot so the stone geometry wont change much. I bought three of them, two of them arrive normally and i am using them happily. however, for the last one, they sent wrong item twice! i keep getting the black silicon carbide one instead of the aluminum oxide one with one side being orange. this is really annoying since i have to send it back twice for replacement and refund as well. for real amazon, check your warehouse, did you have the wrong label on tray??
