I do not think this is suitable for anyone under 12 as you really do need patience, ability to follow instructions PRECISELY, and some ability to think through challenges (the gears kept getting stuck on mine and I had to pull parts of it off more than once to try to see what the issue was - more wax, better alignment, etc.).
