It looks as if it would scratch it's so hard.** A: You do wet it, but wetting it doesn't soften it. It's recycled glass, so it's definitely hard. When you rub it over the surface, the recycled glass rubs off so that after many uses, it begins to disintegrate. I've only used it in the potty, so all I can say is that it doesn't look like it's scratching, but I haven't made a really close inspection. If it is scratching it, it is minor b/c I can't see any scratches, and I've used it repeatedly. Works like a dream! **Q: how to use it?** A: The stone is quite simple to use. You just scrub the way you would normally do with with a brush or other cleaning device. The stone will gradually dissolve but depending on how much you use it, it should last for several cleanings. **Q: Has anyone tried this on grout caked with hard water deposits? Just wondering if it worked.** A: I had hard water and soap scum that would not come off w/ any other cleaners and this worked beautifully, the only problem is it leaves scratches on surfaces **Q: Why does Amazon charge $10.09 when you can buy at Bed Bath and Beyond for $3.99?** A: The answer REUSEIT gave is crap. The toilet was beaming white!!! And he got 95% of a huge tub stain out (cast iron rusting through porcelain - they really should fix that!).I would put pictures but we forgot to get before pictures!It's fast, efficient and no chemicals.
