However, when I tried, I spent 2 hours and never got it to work, went and bought another and it was up in 15 minutes. So I brought this home, tried again for another 2 hours, still couldn't get it to work on a different router and wiring that another powerline has already been working on. It can connect to the router when hard wired and get the wireless programmed, but taking it into the same or next room, other devices can connect to the wireless . but not get internet. Again i got a brand new pair with wireless from another brand, was up within 10 minutes.Unfortunately, return date from amazon has passed since I didn't have an immediate use for it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Overall pleased with the price and performance of this unit. *by L***P on Reviewed in the United States on May 18, 2018* I wanted to give it three stars on the account of what a pain in the a$$ it was to setup the wifi, but after extensive tweaking I got it to work optimally. First, some common sense advise when setting it up. It does not like to share air waves with other nearby wifi networks. I had to disable competitive router in the 2.4 ghz range and manually assign a specific channel to this unit. I dont think it's any good at selecting channels automatically as it always defaults into lower spectrum where interference is most likely, especially from neighbors. I had no luck getting it to work reliably in 802.11a mode at all, but 802.11n works fabulous on a selected channel, having potential interference resolved. The power-line portion of this device works with no problems even on a power line shared with 600 watts of audio and video equipment I am getting reliable 600 to 700 mbit transfers. Overall pleased with the price and performance of this unit.Update 6-7-18The firmware is buggy, running some sort of flavor of embedded linux, I'm going to assume ARM based. Keeps rebooting randomly once a day if used to stream HD content over powerline. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easier than running ethernet cable through your home. *by L***F on Reviewed in the United States on February 17, 2021* I've been using this for over 2 years now. I've got nothing but positive things to say. Its super easy to setup and speeds are terrific on both ethernet and wifi. My son mainly uses the wifi for streaming netflix and for online classes during the pandemic. No issues whatsoever. About once every 6 months it will stop working and we have to unplug it and plug it back in but thats about it.My home has 2 stories and a basement. The router is in the basement on the north side of the house but my sons room is on the 2nd story on the south side. Couldn't be any further away from the router. This powerline adapter completely solved the problem. The web interface for this thing is really impressive also. It's highly customizable. Theres even the ability to automatically disable the device during certain hours or use mac filtering. The only downside is that the range isn't spectacular. It covers a few rooms on the same floor.
