I am very pleased with the set I purchased but think it needs one more support with** A: As a journeyman union carpenter, adding another leg in the center of a 10’ table is a good idea. The best way to ensure it’s even is to flip the table over on the floor or a flat clean surface and attach the support. This should remove any dip in the table. **Q: Are these legs suitable for outdoor use or will it rust without some sort of coating on it?** A: They would rust. I am not sure I would use outside. **Q: The screw holes don’t appear to be slotted so I’m worried about the wood top splitting when it expands/contracts - comments?** A: So…the wood doesn’t come with it. This is just the metal legs, I didn’t slot the wood holes and I used aspen 3/4”x24”x4’ from Menards for the top. It has been over two years in northern Midwest (high humidity summers/very cold winters) weather and held up without needing slotting. The metal legs are excellent quality and very easy to put together and balance.
