I have 2 kittens right now so I have not had any issue with waste fitting through the opening...whether or not that will change when my kittens grow up will remain to be seen. My main issue with this product is how careful you have to be to prevent clean litter from entering the bucket while scoop/sifting. It makes the litter box scooping take far longer than necessary...and who wants to spend extra time cleaning the litter box? The best way that I have found to use this is to remove the scoop portion and scoop out the litter box with the 2 pieces separate and drop the waste into the bucket like you would with any other normal litter scoop.My favorite thing about this product is the bucket and it's ability to hold a small disposable poop bag. In fact, despite the drawbacks of this product, I actually purchased a second Neater Scooper for the sole purpose of being able to use the bucket with the scooper portion stored on top in the closed position (handle facing up) as a "lid". I actually use the DuraScoop Jumbo cat litter scoop since it makes the job go a lot faster and just use the Neater Scooper as the bucket with lid.The Neater Scooper bags are labeled as being scented although 6 boxes of refill bags later I've yet to find a single one with even a hint of any scent. Not only are they void of scent, they are almost too perfectly sized. By that I mean the bags are pretty much the exact size of the bucket which means there is almost no overlap on the sides. I personally prefer a fair amount of overlap so that cat waste is not touching the bucket. I have since switched over to using Pogi's Poop Bags with Easy-Tie Handles to refill the bucket. I am MUCH happier with the Pogi's bags, they are larger and provide plenty of overlap over the bucket sides, my favorite thing about them is they have a much stronger scent, and they are much cheaper than Neater Scooper refill bags.In summary, by itself I am not totally thrilled with the Neater Scooper. However I do love using it in conjunction with the DuraScoop litter scooper and Pogi's Poop Bags with Easy-Tie handles. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing *by J***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2023* I love this little product, it has made my life so much easier, less messy, and it's super convenient! The thing is, it's just not very useful, unless you only have a small kitten using the litter box. The opening isn't large enough to allow solids from a full grown cat to pass through. Also, I have found that the little flap that "prevents the litter in the container from falling back out when you go to scoop again" gets very soiled, and pretty gross, quickly. Also, this flap is just that, a flap. So if I want to sit the scooper upright on a shelf or something next to the litter box, the flap falls back open. I was a little disappointed the first time I used it, because I thought it would be a way to contain the smell until I emptied it - but it doesn't do that unless you lay it down flat, which I hate to do because the scooper part is germy and gross, and I don't want it touching anything.My plan was to use this for my new kitten - I would scoop the soiled litter into this scooper and empty it at the end of the day (or two days, depending). It works fine for that, except for the flap issue. A few times my full grown cat has gotten in to the kitten's litter box (which I was keeping separate for the time being), and it was impossible to scoop those clumps with this scooper - just made a huge a mess.I hope this review helps!
