The neutral would be hot1 the other input hot2?** A: Yes the switch can be wire with two phases. Two hot 1(L1) will be 1phase, hot 2 (L2) will be another phase then tie the neutral (N) in with the utility neutral and the ground (G) with the utility ground. When using two phases the neutral is NOT to be wired in the switch but with the utility neutral. **Q: is this transfer unit fused? If not what size fuse do I need?** A: Because this ATS is rated at 50A CONTINUOUS (assumed) power, circuit breakers on its input & output need to be 125% of this value or 60A. There needs to be a SEPARATE single-pole breaker in the main breaker panel (or sub panel) that feeds 120V grid power to the ATS.
