I can’t find any markings on the plastic sleeve, and the wire is silver in color.** A: Copper. This is an outstanding product. Used these to retrofit step lights. **Q: What is the overall length of the base?** A: Around 1/2 inch I think (white) The cables are around 8-10inches long. **Q: Can these be directly connected to low voltage cable? I am retrofiting older LV LED lanscape lights but when I opened them up I noticed an ic board** A: Mine did not come with an ic board, I suspect that was an accident. I connected mine straight to low voltage. The base doesn't care what the voltage is unless in exceeds the dielectric strength of the wire insulation or the ceramic, think thousands of volts. **Q: Are longer leads available ? (nine inches will not reach the end if the upright shaft for the path light (FX, about 12 inches)** A: I had same issue. Easy fix. I used wire that I connected to the leads with crimp connectors. I put a little silicone grease inside the crimp connectors prior to pushing the wire to avoid corrosion.
