Unfortunately, the legs are cheap plastic. Legs broke on this chair after only using it 3 days a week for 2 weeks in 3 hour increments with adults ranging between 140-210 lbs. It also has a very high center of gravity which makes the chair a little unstable when rolling around. I love the cushion, but definitely wont be buying another one of these. I would have given it 1 star, but the cushion really is great! **UPDATE** The day after posting my initial review I was contacted by a representative from the company. They apologized for the experience and committed to replacing the chair free of charge with one that has a sturdier base. I appreciate the speedy customer service and their desire to both take responsibility for the faulty product I received AND work to make it right. Once the replacement chair arrives I will update this again with a final rating and review based on the replacement chair. Just wish the replacement with the improved base would have been the chair I received the first time. **FINAL UPDATE** As promised by the rep, the replacement base was sent and received quicker than I expected. Although it looks and feels EXACTLY like the original that broke, I've been using it (and maybe even abusing it a little) and it seems to be holding up well. I appreciate the seller for addressing the problem so quickly and bringing resolution to my concern. The center of gravity on the chair is still a little high, and you have to be careful when leaning that you don't fall over, but just grading it on what it is intended to be used for, it's a great chair. The cushion is still amazing, and even better after being broken in a little. The up and down adjustments are smooth, and the back rest is comfortable. Overall, this is a great chair. May not be ideal for larger adults due to the stability issues, but it's a great chair and, combined with the customer service, gets 5 stars from me.
