I have some old compressor tanks that I could use these on but for my immediate needs, I had a bad press fit valve on a riding mower wheel that needed to be replaced. By using these in a threaded hole, I was able to install a replacement valve without removing the tire. Fine for a riding mower but probably not for anything out on public roads. The included Teflon tape is handy to have and seals the threads well. If you don't have a female 1/4" NPT fitting for your situation, you can simply pick up a 1/4-18 NPT tap for under $10 along with a 7/16" drill bit to thread your own hole as I did. The brass fitting are machined accurately and screw in perfectly.
