It requires no flints, lighter fluid, batteries or replacement parts. They never have to be re-supplied and they don’t jam, get damp, or fail like matches and butane lighters. Usage Directions √ Remove the coating, the ferro rod comes with a paint of coating that prevents oxidation √Prepare effective tinder, such as cotton balls, jute twine, sisal fiber, very fine organic fibers, dry grass and tissue etc. √ Scrape some ferro powder on tinder, use the serrated end of the sc, angle the sc at about 45-degree angle. Place the end of the rod right next to the tinder, place the sc on top of the rod and drag the rod back. If you whittle the sc, you may bump your tinder away from the sparks. √ Put it in a ziplock bag after you use it so the moisture doesn't get to it.
