I've had this thing for a while now and it's still intact. It's survived a few falls that shattered similar cups. Things just taste better out of a glass than stainless steel. The only con would be true of all glass cups, things don't stay hot very long, not like a thermos. I'd say things stay hot a little longer than they would in a regular open mug. This lets you travel and still drink from glass.
