It's a single layer fabric, if it was double layer like the pockets, then probably. If you wear any panties you will see them, any color you can see through them and don't you dare wear a design pantie cause EVERYONE will see them! But other than that they are nice and comfy and I just wear a long shirt to cover my bum! (Maybe after my next wash I'll post a picture to show that the white is not thick at all) **Q: waistband details do these have elastic band at top of waist rather than continuous spandex?** A: It seems a thin elastic band is embedded at the top of the wide waist band, probably for an extra support. The wide band itself is made of spandex which is stronger than the leg part. **Q: Do these shrink at all if put in the dryer? I'm ok if they do, mediums are a little big on me and small is pretty tight.** A: Mine shrank in the waist. Now they are uncomfortable when I sit down.:/ Only the waistband got too small, though, so if you are small waisted you will love them. Perfect in every other way!
