The edge of the arm opening is NOT finished, however after tugging and consistent wear and tear they have not frayed or run!! As for size, I really wanted them to go completely up my are like formal opera length gloves, but as I have a VERY thick forearm (for no good reason) I ended up scrunching the gloves down (about three inches from my elbow.) and WOW it looked incredible!!!! My hands are an average 7.5 and in some brands a large size 8, however... these fit... like a glove!!! So folks, even if your hands/arms are larger these can still work! Buy them!
