I can see the blue light blinking from the sound booth which tells me it's talking to the other end. I love the round power cord as well. The previous Blackbird extender had a strange power cord that you could reverse and bend the pins. Another thing I noticed about the J-Tech extenders is that I no longer have to power the computer and projector in a certain order as with the Blackbird. These just work! As my new TVs have transitioned to HDMI, my old system no longer supported the best picture standard (and some sets don't even have RGB inputs). Replacing the old RGB-over-CAT5 units was simple and the new system works well. So far, I am transmitting only 1080P content, with excellent picture quality. Zero drops/glitches/handshake failures, very good. Delivers a full 4KHDR signal. The only "con" is that some devices don't seem to think the 4K signal is possible and you have to manually set it. Like on first connect the Roku defaulted to 1080i and I had to set it to 4K in the settings.
