They carefully wrapped every pieces to prevent damage during shipping and handling. Review: Are pieces perfect?????????????? - I had spent probably 2 weeks researching high quality staughton pieces when I finally decided to go with this one. Overall im very pleased with pieces. However something to note, on the set I recieved one pawn from the white side has a grey stain thats very noticeble, and unremovable. As well as a mistained stauton castle on the king (The red dye has smeared and blended with the wood to make a pink smear) I put 4 stars because honestly I love the chess set.
