When you try to squeeze anything harder then leather the tool starts to bend. **Q: Why can't I turn the wheel? I returned one already,thought it was defective. It worked like a dream for both. I might try adding a hole on a pair of my sandals next. The little plastic container has extra pads for the hole puncher (in case one wears out). I love it also comes with a ruler and a tool to mark where you want to punch the hole. Plus the various options for different sized holes is also a plus. It punches through leather like a dream. It did take two goes to get a proper hole through my dog’s Wild One dog collar, but it was worth the effort. I decided to splurge and buy this more $$ option and I am so glad that I did. This is an example of you get what you pay for. Yes, it is $16 but this is a high quality tool that will last for years and I will use for years to come. It is easily stored in my tool box. I love how you spin the wheel between hole punches and are able to lock the device shut for safe and easy storage.
