They are firm enough to easily feel along the throat for proper positioning, yet pliable enough to keep the bird comfortable. Their gauge is also large enough that they can't easily enter the glottis, which is a huge help for preventing aspiration. ​I sincerely doubt backyard poultry keepers were on the manufacturer's expected customer list, but I couldn't recommend these more highly to anyone who needs to tube feed a chicken. I'll try to follow up at some point with a video once I get one recorded.

I only gave one star because there was not a way to give no star. They leak and are not secure. I have tried 2 and will try them all. they have no return once open so if they are defective there is no recourse no returns. I am a former professional licensed Colon Therapist and know how to use enema equipment and accessories. I would not reorder or recommend these to be used in any capacity as enema equipment.
