What I didn't realize, nor was ever told, is that wearing a boot creates a leg-length discrepancy, as the boot elevates your injured foot a good inch or two. This makes the hips go out of alignment, and puts stress on the joints of the non-injured leg. After just a couple of weeks of wearing the boot, I started having constant lower back and hip pain in the healthy leg. Doing some research online, I found that it is a VERY common problem that doctors, chiropractors, etc are seeing, due to the boot being prescribed/issued, but not a lift for the healthy leg.I ordered these and the pain relief was almost instant! I am able to switch them to any shoe, and the main liner part that goes into the shoe can be cut down to the right size (it has guide marks so you know where to cut for which size.)***NOTE*** I typically wear a women's size 8-8.5 (US), and there is no way these are ANY bigger than a women's size 9(US). Someone who wears a larger size could still use them no problem, as it is the heel lift part that is most important.
