Review: Essential if you don’t want to go the free route - I like to press fresh flower and bubble using a 12 ton Dabpress heat press and their filter bags (all available here on desertcart). Ultimately to make my own vapes. That being said, I have to get that sticky stuff off of the parchment somehow. I used the free method at first, ie, a plate from the freezer, but it warmed too quickly. Enter this cold plate and the game changed. Here’s what I’ve found with this cold plate: It can get so cold it will shatter whatever is on the parchment and good luck finding it before you sit or step on it…at least you found it. Let’s try to avoid that going forward. Like any other cold plate, as this warms, it will attract moisture (physics) and will eventually bead up and soak your parchment. It’s going to happen so just try and be prepared and ready to wipe the plate off as it warms and get it cold again. If you are really serious about concentrates, you should purchase a handheld laser temperature sensor (probably also available here on desertcart). I’ve found the best way to create the proper temperature is to place the cold plate in the freezer (usually between 0-10 degrees) for about 30 minutes or until it is below 20 degrees (mine goes from room temperature to 16 degrees in about 20 minutes). If it gets too cold, slowly allow it to warm in your fridge for another few minutes until it is around 25 degrees. This method has given me the most working time before the plate gets too warm or wet (usually after it reaches roughly 40 degrees). 25-40 degrees is cool enough to work, but any lower will freeze the concentrate on the parchment which creates the above mentioned messy scenario. Any warmer and you aren’t doing anything. After all is said and done, a little bigger would’ve been nice but it’s to be expected at this price point. If you have large amounts to work, get something bigger but if you just using it for personal, this should be fine. I do recommend and will rebuy if I ever need to. Oh yeah, don’t forget silicone mats…also available here on desertcart. Hahaha

A: No. Not at all. It does not stay cold for more than 10 min. I use it for its purpose, scraping concentrates.

A: Depends on room temp. Its aluminum so it holds temperatures really well

**Q: How long does it stay cool for?**
A: to anyone who might be looking for some way to actively cool an aluminum surface like this... assuming it would be helpful to your efforts to do so, i recommend you look for and research the cooling solutions that are used for gaming pc thermal management.  i can imagine that maybe using a circulated water heat exchange method could be helpful but it would be very much married to within a few degrees of the ambient room temperature.  what really caught my attention when i thought about your question is the peltier effect (hope i spelled that right) which uses an electrical current to draw the heat out of thermally conductive material (metals in all the cases i've seen) because with the primitive one i set up 15 years ago, i could easily lower the temperature of my processor to temperatures that were not viable for that application due to the condensation it would cause.  in other words, it's like an inside out refridgerator, but it draws a lot of juice.

Very good plate for the price and comes with a nice bag to store it in also. As far as cooling goes, it stays cool just by itself honestly. It gets very cold when just put in fridge for a few mins, I wouldn’t even recommend putting it in the freezer at all, cause it will just start sweating from being way too cold and your product will probably turn to an icy shatter real quick anyway, which isn’t great to work with. Works very well and again, for the quality, can’t beat the price.
