My hound is a bit too sensitive to any loud noises so when it is on, she cowers and shakes and wants to be inside, but she doesn't bark. It stops my GSD just fine. When it is on, I have noticed the light that flashes to indicate it works can go off with talking or even loud jostling sounds. I don't recommend leaving this on 24/7, it will eat battery like crazy, and because it is so sensitive, I think it is unfair to hit your dog with supersonic noise when you are the one causing it to go off. It also "pings" when they are growling and wrestling, which makes me feel terrible. I think it would be best for a single dog if you don't want to be judicious with your use. Or just be a good dog owner / neighbor and turn it on in response to barking, but off when it isn't necessary. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Functioned fine - this particular dog didn't care *by M***N on Reviewed in the United States on April 27, 2018* Meh. The neighbor's dog certainly noticed this, and it did reduce his barking in the first few days, but after that, he just barked right through it and the device had no effect. (Outdoors, 15'-20' distance, aimed exactly at the dog.) This device has a 3-position sensitivity setting (how much noise is required to trigger it), and that's good. What I really WISH it (and other devices like it) had, is an *intensity* setting, where you could ramp up the volume (i.e., irritation factor) to the dog. I don't want to be cruel to dogs that need less irritation, but I DO want to be able to turn it up to jumbo industrial strength OMG what the #$%^* is THAT?!? for dogs who need it.Ultimately, this device didn't work in my situation. I think it's extremely dependent on the specific dog and circumstance, so I imagine your mileage will vary greatly. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Short Life *by L***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 9, 2018* Worked for one week, seven nights, set on 'low' and used only at night. Turned 'off' during the day. Night eight the dog ignored it and barked all night. Put new battery in, just in case. (The indicator LED was still green) On night nine set unit on 'high'. No barking for about four hours, then barking for the rest of the night, and ever since.Ether unit is defective, or the dog is deaf! Since he responds to voices I don't think he is deaf. A bucket of water would probably work as well.
