That seems unlikely, however, since my canteen did not come packaged in shrink-wrap. Had one when I was younger, when I spent as much time as I could in the bush, camping, hunting and what not. I needed a new coffee cup for work and the truck. I also needed a new water bottle. Since I bought the GI style canteen, I got this to go with it. If your a backpacker, hiker, hunter, camper, or just spend time in country, this cup comes in very handy. Boil water to safely consume, make tea/coffee, and cook up what ever. Stows around the canteen, and slips into the canteen pouch. Is the only cup I have been using as of late. The cup itself is well constructed, better than aluminum. It is the heaviest duty camp pot/cup I have encountered in some time. Have put into open campfire, works great.
