The previous purchased converter did not work at all. I did a bit of research and apparently there are a lot of different versions of these Mini HDMI2AV converters and most of them are junk.This one, though, works very well. The documentation flyer makes a statement that the included USB power cord is not needed, but when I tried it without the power cord it would not work. As soon as I plugged in the USB power cord then the screen on my TV changed to multi-color bars for a couple of seconds and then the Fire home screen appeared.I've watched a few shows on it now and it is working well. Thank you. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The picture and sound is perfect and in the couple of days we've been using ... *by I***O on Reviewed in the United States on May 3, 2017* This little device does exactly what it's intended to do: we use it to connect the HDMI cable that comes from our new Cable Box to a very old Samsung HDTV that we have owned for 10+ years (and that, obviously, didn't have any HDMI input connector). The picture and sound is perfect and in the couple of days we've been using it, I didn't notice any excessive heating. The device comes with the USB connector to provide power (I connected this USB to the USB port of the Cable Box itself), but it doesn't come with the AV cable, which is not difficult to source at all, and I'm pretty sure you have one or two laying around your house anyways... ### ⭐ Cheap. *by J***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 12, 2017* This device isn’t for a PS4 on a older tv.
