I hacksawd the old one off and pushed this on to the stick - 5 minute job - and it's terrific. Well balanced, my stick actually does stand on its own now, and as its rubber it bends over uneven ground, unlike the plastic one which was too flimsy to bend without breaking. She is so much more confident and now can walk around the house with her canes without us following and spotting her (in case of falls). The only note, which is important, is that we use these *exclusively* indoors. We have another set of canes for outdoor. These self-standing cane tips -- in our experience -- wear down too fast outdoors. In a matter of weeks there is noticeable wear and after a few months they are no longer self-standing.
