I used a screwdriver and didn't have a problem until having to put in the screw for the flat door magnet part. I had ordered 2 of these packs and on BOTH, the screw heads ripped off. I'm unsure if I just have cabinets of steel or something (they seem like ordinary wood cabinets) but I ended up using clear shipping tape to install the flat magnet parts.
