Review: stopping power in a brake - I had my doubts about this type of break. after using it I found this break to be a very effective stopping method for my go kart I only have one drive wheel in the rear and it can lock it up at Will I am impressed durability is cool I only have one break and it's on that one rear wheel so there's a lot of weight for it to get woed up. So I do plan on going through bands but I'm prepared for that when I go through bands I just know it's working. - EASY TO INSTALL—go cart brake band does not attach directly to the axle, so it would theoretically fit any size live axle. The brake drum has a universal mounting hole pattern with both 5/16" & 3/8" bolt holes -- those 8 bolt holes will hopefully match those on your wheel brake hub. There is a hole on either end of the brake band. One end fastens to a stud mounted on the cart but is still able to pivot, and the other end fastens to your brake rod.
- BRAKE BAND SIZE—wide--0.99"(25mm), thickness--0.24"(6mm), outside diameter--4.84"(123mm), inside diameter--4.37"(111mm).

So the breaks on my go-cart were almost nonexistent and made a terrible screeching noise when you gently applied them. It was so bad, we just didn’t use them, and on a kart that went as fast as this one did, and with a teenage boy driving, there were some accidents. So I finally decided to go ahead and order new ones. I don’t have alot of money in the thing and because something always tends to break on it every time we use it, I decided to just filter by price and choose the lowest one I could find. Well let me tell you… When these first arrived I realized that the cable wouldn’t work for me, but that’s okay. It still seems very well made and the cover over the cable feels very sturdy. The shoe was painted red and the contact pad was also painted red which concerned me at first, but literally was gone after one or two passes. The installation was very simple and straightforward and only required three separate tools on my application and fit perfectly. They function much better than the ones that where on it and now lock up the tires when you apply and decent amount pressure. And no more squeaking. As I just put them on, we will see about long term durability, but so far they seem very stout. Overall I feel like these provide a very good value for money especially at this price point!
