We do this every Sunday to record sermons. If you want a full 32-channel recording for later mastering and mixing, you can use the USB interface and go right to GarageBand, Logic, Audacity, etc. It's extremely easy. **Q: what else is needed to record from this unit?** A: If you want to do a real, full recording, use the USB interface to a computer with a DAW, like GarageBand. If you just need a simple, single-channel recording, record to a USB flash drive directly on the board. **Q: What makes this different from the X32 Producer?** A: The main difference is the producer does not give you a LED panel strip for channel labeling **Q: Can a scene save/restore channel routing configs such that I can switch routing of channels to different matrix outputs with simple scene change?** A: The scene save won't have anything to do with the routing. On the save screen, you can "check" the box for saving your routing. You can make it save the routing, but the board is setup to be a fail safe an only records the input stage. But a simple scene change won't change the output.
