It made a great affordable gift for her birthday. When it arrived it looked as good as it does in the picture. The actual picture is printed paper on what feels like a fiberboard backing. It has an old distressed look and from a distance it looks like real wood. She originally put it by her pool bar but it started to fade a little bit outside. She then moved it into a heavy traffic area and it somehow got a small rip in one of the corners that exposed the paper backing.
