I have used a brand carried in my local market for years, but they recently changed brands and, besides being coated, which I did not want, the quality of the store brand was awful, with about a third of the plates actually malformed with holes in them - and the price had increased to well over $3.00 for 100. I noticed the complaints of shorted orders were a couple of years old, so I decided to take a chance on these, and I am very glad I did. The quality is excellent. Yes, they are thin, yes, they are uncoated, but that's what I wanted.I use these for painting palettes, canned cat food, and the occasional small bit of food to be microwaved. If what they are holding is particularly thin liquid, I will use two layers. At this price, I am paying less than half of what I paid in the local supermarket chain store for a product that is vastly superior in quality.
