Review: Top tier ! - want to braze or learn to braze? Yes they are pricy , I buy the cheap Lows/Home depot ones...but especially stainless brazing or just a difficult joint , these will make it SIMPLE! 🤓 My first try and I did quality welds , now 2 years later I am better at deciding cheap or top tier which these are diffently ....🤔 I tell you every time I grab these...I smile during the whole job! The feeling of being a true artisian washes over your body and mind as you expertly shape your joints/welds. A saying I know by many lessons , by cheap and you will feel regret everytime you use it...painful . But some times it's all you have. But by top tier, and it will only hurt once , the day you purchased it. Each day after, you smiling !
Review: Works like a charm, even for a beginner - For a small repair project I needed to connect brass adapters to a steel frame and decided to braze them. The product flows and attaches to the different metals easily and makes the connection indestructible (I couldn't destroy it on a test piece). I have no previous welding or brazing experience, only electronics soldering experience. The process is very easy with this product, even for a beginner. I used a Bernzomatic TS8000 torch with Map-Pro gas which worked great for that.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the melting or working temperature of this 54 Ag alloy vs the 45% ?**
A: Thanks for the question! 56% Ag: Liquidus 1145 F. 45% Ag: Liquidus: 1225 F. So the 56% alloy might be better if you want to limit the amount of time heating the assembly or if you want to expose the assembly to less heat. Another point: the 45% alloy requires a little more brazing technique than the 56% does since the 56% alloy flows quicker. With both rods, the flux coating makes the job much easier. If we can help in any way, please let us know.

**Q: Do I need to use flux with these rods?, if so what type**
A: The flux is in the orange coating! Our process delivers the right amount of flux in most cases. If the material to be brazed is oxidized or dirty, you may need more flux (or just a cleaning with a metal brush). But we think that you won't require more. The flux melts and flows around the joint just before the filler metal melts. If you have further questions, let us know!

**Q: How would these do on 20 gauge sheetmetal stress cracks ?**
A: This item did not work for me for what I was doing. I was trying to brace copper to Stainless Steel. Do not know how it will work with 20ga sheetmetal

**Q: Can I use a common butane torch with these brazing rods? Or do I need an acetylene torch?**
A: I wish folks would stop lying about map gas being hot enough to melt brazing rods like this. Any copper, nickel silver, type rods will not melt with just map gas. It does not matter the torch either. You need oxy fuel setup in order to braze anything other than aluminum. Seriously irritates me as I was led down the wrong path so many times, wasting 100's of dollars in the process and feeling like a fool for listening!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strong bond and easy to use.
*by A***R on April 17, 2019*

These rods work great. They have excellent tensile strength for my home projects bonding SS to SS or SS to Cu and the flux does an excellent job cleaning a dirty surface to make a strong joint. I've used propane and MAPP with these rods. When I called Aufhauser, I received friendly and helpful service. My only issue with flux coated rods is that I sometimes burn the flux off the rod which causes me to run through the flux faster than the rod. I fully intend to purchase again.
