Review: If this is a replacement, you must delete the old sensor from the motor's memory - Obscenely expensive, but cheaper than a damaged awning due to wind. This replacement sensor was easy to install and program. The problem arrived when I could not remove the old sensor from the motor memory. The awning would retract automatically every hour since it was unable to connect to the old broken sensor. I was unable to get the old sensor to work enough to delete it from being paired with the motor. I finally was able to solve the problem by reprogramming the motor. It will close the awning when it senses wind ( awning bouncing). I am not sure I understand the question as it does not work with a remote. **Q: Will this work on girard RV awnings???** A: This unit will work with any awning that uses a Somfy RTS motor. Unfortunately we do not know what kind of motor is in your awning. **Q: What make awning continuously retract without wind** A: If the batteries are dead or week then the awning will retract every 20 to 30 minutes even without wind as a safety mechanism for the motor .
