Review: Great Fun Read - FTC Disclosure: I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. However, I also ordered three copies for my library and and a finished copy for myself. And that should tell you how this review is going to go. I love this book even more than I loved Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Library. I know my students will love it too. I've begun reading the book to the third graders when they come for library lessons. They can't decide if they want me to slow down so they can savor the story or if they want to speed up because the story is so engaging. Any reader who loves Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will love this book. This is one of those books that just makes you feel good. There are plenty of puzzles to solve and plenty of action to keep you on the edge of your seat. And of course I love all the book and Dewey Decimal references. Even kids who think the library is boring (gasp! yes there are a few of those out there) will love this book! It is a must for any elementary library or classroom collection. It's good for adults, too.
Review: Mr. Lemoncello rocks! - What an awesome book! I'll read anything by Chris Grabenstein, whether it's one of his excellent mysteries for adults or one of his wonderful books for middle-graders like his hilarious Mr. Lemoncello library mysteries. This book has a large cast of lively and varied characters and features games, many references to real books (including quite a few banned books), and a puzzling mystery plot (with some twists I definitely didn't foresee). It champions "freedom of speech, freedom of expression, and freedom of fun," as Mr. Lemoncello puts it. This is a book that can be enjoyed by kids and grownups alike, as its humor appeals to all ages. It's the second book in a series, but it stands very well on its own.

Bought for 8 year old granddaughters. They loved it. Their mom is really careful about what they read and I know if she approved it, it is good.
