A: The diode has many applications.  Use in some keyboards is only one.

A: Thanks for your interest in one of our Amazon listed items.  The reel is RoHS lead free.  manufactured by Fairchild.  Date Code 2014, Week 28.  The reel is cut at the time of the order being placed and shipped.  Current on hand stock is 8400 pieces enough to ship 28 packages of 300 pieces each

A: Mine seem to be around 0.65V, pretty standard for a 1N4148
