Unfortunately, the VC2SL charges at 1000 ma with no way to change it, whereas the VC2 charges at 500 ma. Also, the VC2SL supposed to charge Li-Ion cells that are at 0 volts. My VC2SL reports these to be NiMH cells. My VC2 charges dead Li-Ion cells with no problems. Other than these two minor problems, the VC2SL works well.April 5th: It appears that dead cells are by default considered to be NiMH until the voltage reaches ~ 1.5 volts then the charger will recognize the cells to be Li-Ion and switch to the higher voltage scale. ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars It overcharges and overheats batteries. Same batteries get recharged by all other chargers I have. This XTAR recharger killed my perfectly fine rechargeable batteries. I tried to submit warranty replacement, but RMA process does not work. The manufacturer is located in China and even if I can ship the defected charger to China, shipping charge would cost much more than the product price.Amazon directs the support to XTAR web site, but RMA process says contact the seller, Amazon first, but Amazon is not there to help the buyer.
