It is wonderful to clean clothes and for my family who has so many allergies to soaps, detergents etc. as far as septic safe I would definitely say yes. I do not use powder detergent since after awhile it creates problems with backage, doesn’t dissolve with the hard water and I even had to get a plumber to open the pipe to eleviate the problem . 1 pod or 2 for extra large loads is all u need. **Q: Can these be used on dark/colored clothes?** A: Oh yes, absolutely, they’re great on any type clothing. I’ve used them for years. I also have used them on my grandkids and great grand kids clothing. When I became an adult I switched to tide and tried that for a few months and my rash were better but would still have some reactions to it. I switched to this brand years ago and have never had a reaction to this product. I love that I can use it on my babies clothes as well and my husband and no one in my house has ever had a reaction. They dissolve better then other pods I have seen where there was leftover soap in the wash when the cycle is finished. I never have an issue where the pods r sticky in the container. They never leak, or break open. They work very well for my family and I, and cleans our clothes well, and spell very good. They're definitely a great product and a great price.
