I have the hazard 4 photo freelance pack .** A: Yes it takes up a narrow space down the center of your back **Q: Can this hydration pack double as a trail running and a MTB solution?** A: I don't think it would work well for running since there is no lower belt/strap to stabilize pack when running. **Q: Will it hold large water bottle in the side pockets ?** A: I can barely get a spare tube to fit in those pockets. A small water bottle maybe. **Q: Is this waterproof?** A: Not even a little. its has a HUGE hole in the top of the bag ... the water bag is water proof but the pack is not. - there is a little pouch at the top of the bag for key and wallet. That may repel some light rain but i dont think its water proof. It fits comfortably and I don’t even really feel it adds much weight. Filling and refilling is easy. Drinking through the nozzle is straightforward and it is nice to be able to drink while riding without having to stop. It also seems decently insulated, as I was able to fill up with lots of ice and water, and even an hour or two later in the hot temperature, I ran out of liquid water and still had ice left in the bag! Impressive.
