The Planar does not have a ground wire so that should do it. I had a small amount of analog hum and connecting a ground wire between the Mani 2 and my Power amp fixed the problem and it is dead silent. Sound quality from the Mani 2 is dependent on the quality of your phono cartridge. The Mani 2 likes moving coil cartridges and you will get the most out of it with an MC cartridge with the proper input impedance settings on the Mani 2. I have run a few different MC cartridges including Sumiko, Ortofon and Hana. I am currently running a Hana SL which sounds exceptional!
