Then, as the child progresses you can let them work by themselvs. The self-correcting puzzle pieces make independent work successful. Make sure to remind the child that just trying to match the pieces without knowing the word isn't going to cut it. :) Also, the quality of materials make this toy very durable. I would recommend this toy to any beginning reader.
