Wooden, Amazin' aces black, Pickleball Inc. Vortex 2.0, and this (GAMMA Sports phaser 2.0). First off, the feel of the paddle. It feels very light. It weighs about 7.9oz. However, the weight feels very balanced. Rather than top heavy, it feels more like an extension of your arm. It requires more follow through with your swing, vs letting the the paddle do the work. Took a minute to get used to, as I was more used to, to end weighted paddles. I have pretty large hands and the handle was fine. I like the type of grip it has as well. The textured face of the paddle is awesome. It gives way more spin than smooth faced paddles. The ball carries more/less (depending on the spin direction), and the bounces become less predictable. Though it took a minute to get used to, but I really enjoy this paddle. If you can get used to with the feel, it's a great paddle for $50. 5 stars for now, unless it breaks sooner than I'd like. Based on the information I found, I decided that the best paddle for me would be medium weight, have small grip, have a longer handle and regular size face (not elongated). Medium weight- too light and it would take too much effort to swing to get enough power behind it. Too heavy it would not be comfortable, my hand would fatigue easier. Small grip- I am a petite women, so the small grip allows better control and it's easier to hold on to. Longer handle- allows a 2 handed back hand, much like a tennis backhand. This gives me a little more power and control by the ability to use 2 hands, especially when further from the net (at the back line). I am a petite 5'2" woman in my 50's, and this is the perfect size and weight for me. If you have the opportunity to try paddles before buying, that is the best way to decide, but not everyone has the opportunity to do that. If not do the research to find out what paddle is best for you.
