I was afraid I wasn't going to be able to install this myself, but, it turned out to be a breeze. Things you need to know: The original will be "frozen" in place after a few years. You'll need to use a wrench with some initial muscle. IMPORTANT: While turning the obvious nut on the original valve, you must hold the ENTIRE fixture from under the sink so it doesn't rotate with your motion to remove the old valve, or while installing the new valve -- the fixture will rotate otherwise, and you'll break/kink/rupture the flex hoses attaching it to the water. This part already comes with a rubber gasket/washer attached at the thread (so, don't panic after you've installed it and forgot to look). I recommend using white teflon tape on the threads, but you don't have to. Obviously, LEFT hand (45882) would be the opposite or clock-wise closing typically used for HOT water side (your left as you face the faucet) of your two handle faucet. These numbers are for the 1/2" size only. **Q: Does this part rotate clockwise to the right to turn on, and counterclockwise to the left to turn off?** A: Hot and cold are opposite rotations. Hot rotates clockwise to turn on and cold rotates counter clockwise to turn on **Q: Where is this part made? China or Germany?** A: I don't remember but part has worked flawlessly since installed. **Q: Is this part the same as part number 017001310?
