There are over 240 high-quality photographs illustrating an awesome selection of objects from around the Pacific. Of the few books specifically dedicated to ethnic adornment in the Pacific/Oceania this is the most satisfying. The coverage is more extensive than in other books on that subject. Only in a more general book, namely my wife Truus Daalder's *Ethnic Jewellery and Adornment*, is anything similarly comprehensive and thorough found (40% of that 420 pages long book is dedicated to Oceania, including Australia). The authors deserve great praise for the fine pieces chosen, but even more so for producing a genuine BOOK, i.e. one with extensive, thorough and reliable information. This is not just for the coffee-table but offers serious cultural knowledge. Heartily recommended.
