Review: out with old in with the new - worked like a charm. Got rid of the old bat wing antenna
Review: A must have if you buy a King antennae - I used this to cover the hole from my old crank up antennae. I mounted the King Omnidirectional antennae. (Black) The fit is good and they give you the fasteners to mount the antennae to it. You through bolt the antennae to it. Be aware that you must first install the antennae wire to the antennae through the slot that is in the antennae base. Apply the sealant to fill the slot and then all around the base of the antennae. This is the messy part. I had the antennae upside down to do this. Put the fasteners through the holes and put on the nuts. tighten down with a Phillips screwdriver and small crescent wrench. You have to drill the holes in the plate to mount this to the roof first. I put holes in the corners and then two on each side. I used stainless spax screws #6 by 3/4 to fasten this all down after applying sealant to the base of the plate all around. Screw it down, clean it up and then finish with a tube of lap seal to cover all the edges of the antennae and the plate. Apply lap seal to all fasteners. Nice job and very sturdy.
