At first the chain did not slack enough and the plastic started to slightly bend. I then backed out the bolt on the device and started again to avoid breaking the plastic. The second time the chain slacked more and allowed me to lift the tensioner assembly one half inch to slide gasket and moon gasket in and out. Take your time. This device will work as advertised. There is nothing wrong with this tool, it's the people using it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Did the job without a problem *by K***R on November 16, 2020* I already had one off these (different brand) from a long while ago, but since I was doing the job on another car I decided it was best to have a new one juuuuuust in case I needed it. Turns out I DID need it haha, this EWK part gave me no issues. You HAVE to make sure that regardless of which brand you use, make 100% SURE that you have the tool resting on the actual shoe and NOT the metal bracket for the tensioner. It's very easy to put just a little pressure on the chain once you have the holding tool in place so that you can nudge the tool back away from the metal bracket. After that you just tighten it down like any other hold down tool. If you don't pay attention to where it's pushing down on (you only have to do that once at the very beginning of tightening it down), then you'll be on that metal bracket and it WILL break the tool no matter who makes it.
