I did receive the more oak like color as my replacement rather than the mahogany color, but i personally like the oak look a bit more. It does charge well and I have been testing it for about two weeks now to charge my phone at work. I am still disappointed that the cable is not detachable from the base as both the product page and manual suggests.[ORIGINAL]The visual aspect of it is nice and clean. The style of it is more of a matte than one that is shiny like in the image. The angle it provides is great for a desk. The issue is that it does not provide adequate charge to charge my S8. I am using the AC wall adapter that came with the S8. The phone has been sitting on this charger for over an hour and it has gone from 41% when I sat it down, to 40% over the span of an hour. I removed my case about half an hour into the test to give it a fair chance. The case is 1.5 mm thick and is plastic and leather. It's nice to be able to charge my phone while it is sideways. However, it's not perfect due to these 3 things that I have noticed:1. The color is a bit more red than the pictures show. It's definitely more of a redwood color, not brown like I see in the pictures.2. The balance is slightly off when my iPhone X is sideways on it, letting the dock rock back and forth a little bit. Not a big deal, but a little annoying.3. The inside of the joint connecting the base and the charger gets very hot. makes me worried about how long it will last, and if it is damaging the phone.
